As a licensed clinical psychologist, I can not prescribe medication.  Psychiatrists prescribe medication and have completed medical school.  They are basically doctors that specialize in mental health.  My education included a master's degree and a doctorate degree.  Therefore, I can not prescribe.

Also, I see myself as someone who understands the usefulness of medication but try to address as many difficulties as possible without the use of medication.  I am also concerned that children are prescribed too many medications at times.  I try to limit this from happening as much as I can.

I do work with many psychiatrists that can help with medications.  I like working with these professionals because they keep in touch with me and the progress we are making in treatment.
